Solar boat “Novella” departs at 5:30am from the Connetquot Canal in Oakdale and is heading west into Reynolds Channel, passing by the Robert Moses Causeway (a moment of silence here for the victims and families of 9/11. The beloved Twin Towers used to be majestically visible in this spot).

At 10:00am Novella is cruising along the shores of Long Beach
At 11am Novella is on the inside of the barrier islands, just east of the Jones Beach Water tower
